Obituary of Mr. Lascelle Morris

Please share a memory of Mr. Lascelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sorrow and broken hearts we announce the passing of Lascelle Lloyd Morris of Scarborough Ontario, Canada, on August 10, 2022, after battling an illness for many months. He was 70 years young.

Lascelle was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by his wife Hilda, daughter Sheree, son Matthew, grandson Malakai. He leaves behind 4 sisters, 1 brother, 3 sister-in-laws and 2 brother-in-laws, and many cousins, and nieces and nephews who adore him and are mourning the loss of ‘Uncle Las”

Uncle Las or Las, as he was affectionately known,  was kind and generous to everyone and he was most dependable and always did his best to keep a promise.

He was a sports enthusiast and he particularly enjoyed cricket, baseball and basketball.  His hobbies also included playing dominoes, listening to music, working on cars, researching ways to fix cars, and traveling. He especially liked to travel with his family to Jamaica.

Lascelle worked many years within the broadcasting and communications industries, starting his career with JBC (Now TV-J) in Jamaica in 1972. When he migrated to Canada in 1985, he began working with CFMT (Now Rogers OMNI 1).

He always had a positive attitude, a great work ethic and pleasant demeanor. The television station he worked with ran a 24 hour, 7 days a week schedule, and even while working rotating shifts, overnight schedules, and on stat and public holidays, he never complained about going to work.

He stayed on as a senior Master Control specialist until his retirement on February 24, 2018. After his last shift, he came home with many gifts and cards from coworkers and friends he had made during his 33 years of service.

Lascelle lived a quiet Christian life with his family in Toronto, and many admired how well he interacted with young kids as well as the older people, with grace and respect, whether they were family members or strangers. He was looking forward to spending many more happy years on earth with his family and friends but alas that was not in God’s plan.
