Obituary of Mrs. Maria Lentini

August 31, 1935 - August 9, 2022

Maria Lentini, 86, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2022 surrounded by her loving children. She was predeceased by her husband, Corrado Lentini, in 2012.

Maria was born in Pachino, Italy, on August 31, 1935. She was the youngest of five children and was a beloved baby sister. She married Corrado Lentini on April 28, 1956. She came to Canada in 1956 where she built a happy home and family.

As a wife, a mother and a grandmother, her family was the light and love of her life. Nothing made her happier than taking care of her children and grandchildren, and bringing everyone together with her homemade Sicilian dishes. She was always incredibly proud of her family’s milestones and accomplishments, and was always happily a part of their many family celebrations.

She enjoyed many trips with her family to Canada’s east coast, the Caribbean, Mexico, the United States and Italy. She enjoyed reading, watching Italian game shows and soap operas, and spending time playing cards and talking with her friends at the Scarborough Italian Association at the West Scarborough Neighbourhood Community Center.

Maria is survived by her children: Sal (Irm) Lentini, Andrew (Carla) Lentini, and Mariella (Wayne) Watson, and her grandchildren: Giulia (John), Amy (Nick), Deanna (Sina), Amanda (Evan), Viki (Jon), Rebecca, Vanessa, Christina and Andy.
