Desmond was indeed a gentle soul. My favourite memories of him are at our Keswick weekends for Irish. Desmond was up early, camera in hand and outside enjoying everything. His poetry recitation in the evenings transported us all. He was so pleased we enjoyed and cheered him on. He was a bright spot, inquisitive, funny and he will forever be remembered fondly by those who knew him.
