Obituary of Ms. Phyllis Fraser
Phyllis Caroline Fraser passed away at the age of 91, on Saturday July 30, 2022, in Toronto, Canada after a brief illness.
Phyllis was born in Kingston, Jamaica on June 8, 1931, the second of six children - five girls and one boy.
Phyllis immigrated to Montreal, Canada in July of 1962.
Phyllis is pre-deceased by her parents Edith and James Fraser, siblings Monica Fraser, Millicent Taylor, and Arthur Fraser.
She is survived by her siblings Lena and Barbara along with her children Lana, Jannette, Cordelia, Christine, Tony (Colene). Also by her nine grandchildren Kwame, Lana, Akil, Tammy, David, Britney, Mitchell, Taylor, Sommer and her six great grandchildren Aaron, Chyna, Breanna, Jordan, Sienna, Malakai along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Phyllis lived life to the fullest embracing all opportunities to engage with her Christian sisters and brothers, serving in any way she could. As a faithful servant for the Legion of Mary women's group, she served by offering sacrament to the sick in hospitals.
She enjoyed sewing garments to attend her many social activities and special occasion events. She even sewed two of her daughter’s wedding gowns.
Music was her trigger to get her hands and feet in motion. She loved dancing and outdid all those on the dance floor.
She enjoyed working with her colleagues at Sunlife Insurance Company as a data entry clerk where she developed lasting friendships.
Enjoying her years of retirement, Phyllis became a snowbird, travelling to Florida annually to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren. She even enjoyed many trips to Europe, especially her pilgrimage with here Legion of Mary group.
She will be sorely missed by many family and friends.
