Obituary for Mr. Hugh Walters

Sunrise: December 22, 1935 – Sunset July 27, 2022

On Wednesday July 27, 2022 @ 12:04 pm, we said farewell to Hugh Walters as he departed this earth, peacefully, at Bridgepoint Hospital, Toronto, ON, surrounded by his loving and caring wife and their three sons.

A devoted husband and father, Hugh leaves to mourn his passing his dear wife of nearly 59 years, Addie Walters and their three sons Hugh Jr.(Michelle), Roger (Farah), and Charles.

He was the proud grandfather of four granddaughters: Teana, Amiya, Asiah, and Rheign; three grandsons: Kyle (Jessica), Logan, and Reilly; five  adopted grandchildren and one great-grandson: Hayes; who will all miss his smiles, hugs, and his words of wisdom.

He is predeceased by his mother Beatrice Hunt of Antigua and Barbuda, brothers Pat Walters of Ottawa, Rev. Charles Walters of Vancouver, Llewellyn Samuel (aka Jack) of New York and sister Christine Watkins of New York.

Born on the beautiful island of Antigua & Barbuda, he was a member of the Defense Force there and migrated to Canada where, for many years, he worked and subsequently retired as a loyal employee of the well-known John Inglis Appliance Company of Toronto.

Hugh Walters will be remembered by all who knew him, as a true friend and a gentle soul who loved God, his family and friends of which there are so many.

  • The family would like to express many thanks to Dr. A. Kirshen, nurses and all staff of Bridgepoint Hospital for their devoted care of Hugh and also for helping to make his final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

Donations may be made to Bridgepoint Hospital or Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Hugh Walters.
