Our condolences to Evelyn's family and to her Dearest friend Bonnie. Evelyn was a great teacher in the adult Sunday School class at FPPC. We both worked diligently in setting up and running the library at FPPC. She was indeed a visionary in God's work, and was involved in many other areas in the church. Well done Evelyn. RIP now in Gloryland with Jesus.

Thank you Ms Bowers for the impact you had in my life in Missionettes during our Flemingdon Park years. I thought all believers grew up to become missionaries. : ) It certainly did put a calling on my life since the age of 9 & I am still serving in missions. Ms Thomas, may God's strength comfort & carry you. Thank you again for being wonderful examples of women of faith & love.

Deepest sympathy to Bonnie and Evelyn's entire family. Evelyn made a huge impact on my life and on my two daughters' lives, especially during the years of MISSIONETTES...as councillors and/or students. What fun times we had!!! Bible drills, soccer baseball, swimming, skating, Christmas and Graduation Presentations, events and activities too numerous to mention. We also shared a unique occasion of graduating from York University at the SAME time. She will be missed by sooo many here but she is now basking in God's Glory. Bonnie, I pray that you will experience the comfort and peace that come from the Lord, during this difficult period. R.I.P. my friend.

Evelyn, I shall never forget you, but then, I will see you again in Glory, won't I? From our first meeting in the mid-70s at Flemingdon Park Pentecostal Church you made a deep impression on me. You taught the Adult Bible Class and I learned so much with you there. I got grounded in my faith. Later on you invited me to be a counsellor in Missionettes, and you brought the same passion to your ministry there. You had an excitement about you that made everything we did fun! We were about 10 women and maybe 60 girls. The planning, the teaching, the crafts, the events, the fellowship—all of it was so good—and you seemed to make it all work with ease. The last thing you got me involved in was helping with the costumes for the Christmas pageants, and I enjoyed those times also. Evelyn, you were a faithful friend. Whenever I came to you for advice, I always knew that your counsel would be Godly and wise. You have been a great gift in my life. Thank you.
Bonnie, you were the Sunday School Superintendent during those years, and together with Evelyn you were a wonderful team. I have many happy memories of all of us, together with Wendy--serving Jesus with joy and gladness. I know you are both missing her presence right now. May you know the Lord's strength and comfort at this time.
With love and appreciation,
Ruth Arnold

My deepest condolences to Ms Bowers’ family.
The songs she taught my friends and I in Sunday School are still fresh in my memory. I’m 23 now, and I still use the strategies she taught me when reading the Bible.
She faithfully served Jesus and always comes to my mind when I read this verse:
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. Ps 73:18
Thankful to the Lord for the impact Ms Bowers made.
