Obituary of Mrs. Mary Helen Philomena Kos
Peacefully, at the age of 92, Mary Helen Philomena Kos of Toronto passed away at Scarborough Birchmount Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Anne Currid and was born on April 1st, 1930, in Cloonacrin, Co. Sligo, Ireland. Orphaned at an early age, she left Ireland for the UK and then Canada to become a proud and dedicated nurse, mother, and grandmother. She left this world grateful for her joyous life with the family that she had built. Predeceased by her husband Sandor Kos in 2001, she is survived by her sons Richard (Gianna), Michael (Sonja) and Stephen (Sherrie). She took great joy in and was immensely proud of her seven grandchildren: Claire, Grace, Samantha, Lake, Erin and Sadie Kos. She was predeceased by her brothers John Joe Currid of Cloonacrin, Co. Sligo, Ireland and Bernard P. Currid of Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Visitation will take place at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough, on Wednesday July 6th, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church, 59 Heather Road in Scarborough, on Thursday July 7th at 10:30 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband at Pine Hills Cemetery following the Mass.
