Puay Lau Chua passed away on June 17, 2022, peacefully in her home.

 

Born on January 6, 1920, Puay Lau spent 102 wonderful years spreading joy and faith to all those around her. A comfort to many and a joy to all, her greatest pride was in taking care of and cooking for her family and friends.

Puay Lau was born in Muar, Malaysia and at the age of 60, moved to Toronto, Canada, where she opened her own restaurant, Ole Malacca. She raised 9 cherished children:

Ruth Koh (Patrick), Hai Huang Lau, Lik Wey Law (Nancy), Kern Kok Hu (Hock Ming), Soo Gek Kang (Chai Seng), Hock Thye Law (Kim), Hock Long Law (Tin), Mui Gek Chua (Cheng Hock), and Kuang Joo Law; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great- grandchildren.

 

Later in life, Puay Lau Chua enjoyed making sticky rice, buns, and pastries and spent much of her time sharing her love and joy in God through her extraordinary life stories. A loving and faithful woman until the very end, she will be greatly missed.
