Uncle John was a delight to be around. He was always joyful and was a great prankster. I recall one summer holiday as a late teenager when we were sitting around by the lake. I heard from behind him say what kind of pie do you like? The next thing I know I had cream pie in the face. Chasing him was futile because he sure could run.
Both Sherry and I will miss him greatly. We were fortunate to be able to spend a holiday with John and Eleanor when they visited us out west. It was a great week. Blessing to the rest of the family.

My Brother John…
He will always be a ‘brother’ in the Dewell family! As the youngest of 6 (John being the oldest) and out of the nest by the time I came along, I didn’t know John as a kid, but rather as a big brother. He and Eleanor would come to the farm with Debbie & Scott (who are more my age) for family gatherings and good times at the farm. John’s laughter will always ring in my ear and today brings a smile to my face!
You are and will be missed by many, especially in the Dewell family! God Bless and keep you!
- Love Karen

Uncle John was always there to add some comedic relief to our familly get together. From ordering at Swiss chalet. To playing cards with him. He always made up new rules. We will miss him. But so glad he’s been a part of our lives. Cyril and Linda wagner. And his brother in law. Nick Monsour.

So many happy memories of John. He and Eleanor were good friends with my Aunt Grace and Uncle Roy, and John was a frequent visitor in their home . He always had a smile and that great laugh! They so enjoyed his visits to them in the nursing home. He was a very loyal friend to the end and will be missed by all who knew him. Rest In Peace John.

Uncle John brought a lot of laughs to our family get togethers. I will never forget his patience at teaching me to water ski. He was prepared to take all afternoon to do it. And still thankful I was NOT at the Swiss Chalet in Sarnia when he decided to order white meat for everyone and caused a ruckus about restaurant policy. Thanks for many years of great memories!
