Obituary of Mrs. Frances Chung

It is with deep sadness that the family of Frances Chung (nee Ho Yan) announce her peaceful passing on May 18, 2022 at the age of 85 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of over 50 years, Jimmy; children: Gary (Julie) and Jeffrey (Caroline); grandchildren: Colin, Harvard, Emily, Sebastian and Arlen. She will be dearly missed by all of her siblings, numerous relatives and friends.

Frances was born to Chan Cheuk Hei and Leung Mei Nur on June 13, 1936 in Kimberly, South Africa. As a young woman, she travelled to London, England where she met Jimmy.  Together, they had two children. In 1978, they immigrated to Canada and settled in Pickering, Ontario where she worked for many years as an accountant for entrepreneurs who considered her to be loyal and dependable.

Frances was a kind person with a gentle soul and a pure heart. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her close-knit extended family. She always had a smile on her face – especially when playing Mah-Jong with friends and watching family members enjoy her “famous English Trifle”. Frances travelled extensively and enjoyed taking cruises to Alaska, the Mediterranean, Australia and Asia.
