Obituary of Mrs. Cynthia Dizon-Hotz
Cynthia Dizon-Hotz was not only a caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; she was also a mentor and inspiration to a multitude of people; touching lives that were far-reaching. She peacefully returned home to the Lord at the age of 74, on Sunday May 15, surrounded by love and with devoted family by her side.
Cynthia was born to Alfonzo Dizon and Angelica Dizon on January 9, 1948, in Pampanga, Philippines. She is predeceased by her husband Eduard Hotz of 15 years of marriage and is survived by her dear children, who she referred to as her two angels, Janessa, and Jennifer; along with her beloved son-in-law Robbie and her grandchildren Jaiscelle, Jenelle, Sienna, and Noah. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Linda, Cecilia, Elvira, and Ricardo; and will be joining Adele and Alfonzo Jr. in heaven.
Cynthia will be remembered for her gentle kindness and contagious laughter. Being the light that everyone was drawn to, Cynthia loved volunteering in the community, at church and even palliative centres. Her mantra was always ‘how may I serve’. She loved spending time surrounded by family, friends, laughter, and good food. This was especially true during basketball games. She enjoyed being president of the Lebron James’ fan club. Not only was Cynthia the life of the party, her smile and spirit would light up a room with her generosity and kindness.
Cynthia was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Even as her health declined, she would spread joy, being only concerned about those around her. Her kidney transplant, which she named “Jane”, enjoyed eight birthday celebrations (not to mention Baskin Robbin cakes), knowing that each birthday gave her an extra year with family and friends. Cynthia was an angel on earth.
