Obituary of Mr. Manuel De Almeida Frizado

April 15, 1928 - May 12, 2022 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Manuel De Almeida Frizado on May 12, 2022 at the age of 94. Born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and predeceased by his beloved wife, Maria Aldina and his first born son Joao who passed away at the young age of 2.  Manuel is also predeceased by his parents, Maria de Gloria and Ernesto de Almeida Frizado; sister, Maria da luz Almeida Raposo and was the beloved brother of Faustina Cordeiro and Jose Frizado.  Manuel is the dearest father of Joao Manuel, Aldina Maria, Walter (Lesley) and Paul Carreiro (Elaine). Loving grandfather to Adam, Rachel, Michelle, Cameron, Andrew, Kristen and Robert.

After getting married, he came to Canada on the Greek Liner TSS Nea Hellas and arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 2 1954. He was followed by his wife and young son, Joao Manuel, 6 years later.  Manuel was one of the original founding parishioners of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Manuel will be sadly missed and mourned by his family and all who knew him.
