I first met Donna while working for the St. Leonard's Society of Toronto and from 2012 - 2016, enjoyed the privilege of working under her guidance at Alpha House. She truly modeled compassionate care! My hope is that she was rewarded with the same sort of support when she needed it. Sincere condolences to Donna's family and many friends

I had the privilege of growing up with the Westman family. Donna always possessed kindness, generosity, and a fierce sense of humour, insight, and wit. And of course, when Krisin and I thought we were getting away with something, we weren’t :) My heartfelt condolences to Krisinda, Tanya, and Lisa, and their extended family. Donna was loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know her. Honoured to forever be your Lisa B. Xoxoxox

My condolences and best wishes to Donna’s personal family and her Alpha House family and colleagues. I remember when Aloha House was started through the leadership of Dr. George Birtch. I was connected to Alpha in different ways over the years and served on the Board of Directors for a time. It was very unique to have a lady leading a residence for men. Donna was strong, caring, organized and absolutely dedicated to the men and the role that Alpha House played in the addiction recovery continuum. It saddens me to know that her last few years were so tough on Donna and her family.
Fly on dear lady. Your legacy is in good hands. I am grateful to have been part of your time while you walked this earth.

My condolences to the Westman family, her friends and to those who crossed paths with Donna. It is always difficult to put into words, what someone has meant to you. Donna was a support person for me over the past 25 years. Someone I could confide in and whom without judgment would listen. I considered her; a mentor, she was my boss for a few years and I enjoyed working with her. The most important of all, Donna was a dear friend and I am extremely grateful I met her.

I am so saddened to hear of Donna's passing. I am one of many, many men who is alive today because of the loving, caring support that Donna and Alpha House provided me with at the beginning of my sobriety 14 years ago. Whether it was having a tea and chat in the kitchen, or a warm welcome returning 'home' after a hard day, Donna made me feel loved and helped me to start to love myself. She is and will forever be a piece of who I am, and i am eternally grateful to have crossed paths with her beautiful soul. My deep condolences to her family for their loss, and the doubtlessly challenging and painful facet that the pandemic added to Donna's joirney. May you all find solace knowing how many, many, many lives Donna made a difference in.

Donna was a beautiful soul and renowned member of the Recovery Community. I knew Donna through her work at Alpha House as the Executive Director. I use to work at Renascent Treatment Centre and I would send referrals over to Donna she always took the greatest of care when we expressed a potential client was in dire need of help. She always treated clients with Addiction like it was her honour to be of service to them and told them that they were worth it. I later had the honour of attempting to fill the huge hole left in Alpha House when Donna Retired and I am still currently in that role as the Executive Director at Alpha House. I can't express in words the impact she has had on the lives of countless people. Donna retired nearly 6 years ago after 20 years of dedicated service to Alpha House. Even 6 years later I still get calls, emails and drop-ins from alumni who greatly miss her presence and wanted to convey how they would most likely not be alive if it wasn't for her. Their stories are all very similar. They speak about the individual time spent sitting one on one talking about life, ambition and working through their triggers. They talk about how she allowed them to come into the program directly from a Detox and helped them build their self-confidence and develop a life beyond their expectation. Many have described her as their surrogate mother who loved them back to life and gave them a voice when they were unable to speak for themself. She will truly be remembered through her good works and the continued efforts at Alpha House that she laid the ground for.

My deepest condolences to all of you.
Donna and i met at a meeting and became friends thereafter. We always had a great time when we went to Port Perry first and she always bought clothes for her dance classes. Then we would leave and go to Ajax Casino for dinner and for 1 hour playing the machines. On the way there, she always told jokes but sometimes I did not know if she was serious. Then she would burst out laughing. I miss her very much and will always treasure those memories

To my second family,
Sending you so much love and healing energy as you move through your journey of grief & celebration of a beautiful life & soul. I have so many fond memories of Thanksgivings, Christmas's, birthdays and dinners with all of you & will cherish them always - Donna and I always enjoyed a cup of coffee and a chat.
Donna Dew had the most impeccable style and inspired me to be bold (especially with hair colour!). I appreciated her sense of humour and contagious laugh! I know she is dancing, singing, laughing & dressed to the nines again as your forever angel.
Love & hugs, Tara xx

This was a very sad day.
My heart goes out to Lisa,Tanya,Chriscinda and the rest of the family.
My dear friend we have known each other for a very long time. Before our girls born.
We shared a lot of good memories.
Your little blue Volkswagen, I think it was your first car. Fun we had in it.
The laughs we had until the tears rolled down are cheeks.
Casino time shopping trips, you always had to buy something.
Day trips to Port Perry and the many times we went to Florida.
I will miss you but never forget you.
Rest In Peace my dear friend?
Love Pat.
