I can’t believe I buried my cousin today.
I can’t believe I will never see him again.
I can’t believe I won’t hear his voice again.
I can’t believe Tristan & Samaya won’t get to have a relationship with their Shehan mama.
Shehan anna never thought of Gish and I as annoying little cousins. When most people were in their twenties they want to party. Shehan anna insisted on spending time with us.
When he was 24 and I was 11, Gish 8, he took us camping…like in actual tents…(looking back, those who know me, would never picture me doing that). That was the first and only time I went camping in a tent and will always remember him for that, the countless memories and most of all the time he spent.
Shehan anna, you have a heart of Gold and you never spoke ill of anyone. You were a people person and everyone was drawn to the person you were.
You put everyone else’s needs before your own which is why God called you to be by His side.
I am upset because you were taken away too soon.
I am disappointed because I didn’t get enough time
I am sad because the kids are not going to get your overall interaction and love.
I am angry because of Covid, we couldn’t meet up more often.
…But most of all I am hurting and I will continue to hurt until I get the pleasure of seeing my anna again.

My most sincere of condolences to the family. Shehan and I grew up together with a great group of kids. He was a giant amongst us and someone I was in awe of on a regular basis. He could play any sport, was often one of the smartest kids in class, was truly hilarious ( although some teachers may have disagreed), a proper friend and occasionally a ringleader for mischief.
It's been too many years since I saw him as I left Canada a long time ago. My thoughts are of him and with his family today.

Shehan was one of the best friends you could ever dream of having. He stood with me, as my best man nearly 30 years ago, and I could never have been prouder to have him standing next to me as I married my life partner, Joanne. Shehan was like a brother to me, both big and little, depending on what we were up to at the time, and we got up to a lot. ;-)
As I think about the years to come, we’re going to deeply miss him. Joanne and I will miss hearing from Shehan on our anniversary, he never missed one, nor a birthday for that matter. He had a sense of caring and loyalty like no other. From now on, every May the 2nd, instead of hearing the familiar sound of Shehan’s voice wishing us a happy and special anniversary, I’ll just have pause and remember how a quick beer at the bowling alley, a forgotten ring, a lost set of keys, and Shehan lowering me down into my bedroom window from the roof, while wearing our tuxes, got me to the wedding on time. Well, on time enough to get married, at least. He was like a big brother that day.
As much as he’s touched our lives, I’m sure he’s touched many more, including those of his family. As we kept in touch over the years, he spoke much of his family. He was a proud uncle, and an adoring son and brother. Both Joanne and I wish we could have been there in person, to show how much he was loved. Our hearts go out to all those who’s lives Shehan has touched, especially those of his family. Our sincere condolences.

Your light, cheerful, kind nature is something I will never forget. The plans of your retirement discussion of the warmer Mexican dream would have to wait for now until I see you in another destination. I know one thing for sure Raja Mama is waiting on the doors steps of the other end to welcome you with open arms. Thank you for all the great memories, and I will never forget the day you and Krishan received us at YYZ on the 8th of August 8th, 1984, to live the Canadian dream.
