Auntie Audrey was Mom's best friend from the age of 17; and our adopted aunt. They worked together at "Patton's and Baldwin's". Oh the stories!
Auntie Audrey used to come by to visit Mom most Sundays after church. She would have one cigarette, one cocktail and a couple of egg salad sandwiches. I always believed that Mom was a bad influence, but Auntie Audrey obviously enjoyed every minute of it.
Auntie Audrey was always up to date with news and politics. She had strong opinions and frankly, you didn't want to argue with her.
She worked her entire life, continuing part time at the drugstore, into her eighties. After that, she kept herself busy driving around the church ladies and volunteering with the Salvation Army. What a woman!
We all have wonderful memories of her. Sent with love and respect from Charlene, on behalf of the Stokes Family
