Yesterday I went and walked down Gilmour street in Ottawa and it felt so different, I broke down and wept. I remember when I was a broke student, finding my feet in Canada. I had no place to stay, and I knew no one. Terver offered me a place at his home on Gilmour. It was a one bedroom apartment. He insisted that I have the bedroom and he would sleep on the couch in the living room. In his own home! I have never met a kinder, gentler soul. Before coming into the apartment, he would stand at the door and ask "Are you decent?", to make sure that he gave me privacy. Each time he was heading out for groceries, he would ask me "Any requests?". As if he wasn't already doing enough to help me. Terver was an Angel on earth, an absolute gentleman and the kindest soul I know.
We have lost someone special and I am devastated. This is so painful, I have had trouble sleeping and eating some I heard. It is unimaginable the pain Auntie Terngu, Nguher, Oryiman and Nenge are experiencing. No parent should have to bury their child. I am so sorry. Words fail me. I wish you comfort. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Terver, I know you are in your Dad's arms and Our Father is holding you both. Together you will live forever. Rest easy, my dear brother. Be at peace.

My heart is filled with sadness and shock at the news of Terver's passing. Terver was my childhood friend and my classmate and I will cherish all the fun times that I got to spend with him and his family, all the times we would grumble together over our homework assignments, all the times he used to tease me with that same twinkle in his eye that he got from his dad (I think he enjoyed causing mischief!). I am truly grateful to have known him. I may not understand the reason why his time on earth had to be cut so short -- it doesn't seem fair -- but I wish his gentle soul everlasting peace and I pray for strength for Aunty Terngu, Nguher, Oryiman and Nenge in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. My love to all of you.

Terver you were a gentle giant. An amazing older brother to me, whenever I would come to Toronto from Guelph for the holidays, you would always make me feel so welcome. I am in absolute shock right now! Terver was a very close friend of almost 22 years! We had so many amazing conversations and good times over the years. He taught me some very valuable lessons early in life during our Trent University years which are still with me today. I'll miss you, dude! Thank you for all the great times!
