Obituary of Mr. Jan Gung Kong

On December 14, 2021, in his 86th year, Jan (John) Gung Kong passed away peacefully in his sleep. Devoted husband to Christine (nee Wong) for over 55 years. Loving father to Mylene and Adrienne (Rico). Proud grandfather to Isabella and Olivier. 

Jan immigrated to Canada from China and became a proud Canadian citizen in 1956. He worked for over 30 years for the City of Toronto. He enjoyed watching horse racing, meeting up with friends for coffee and games, and dining out to celebrate birthdays and special occasions with his family. 

Jan was known for his friendliness, humour, kindness and generosity. He will be missed immensely by all those who knew him. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Kidney Foundation of Canada. 

The family will be holding a private funeral and would like to express their gratitude for your love and support.
