Obituary of Mrs. Edith Levina Jarrett
On 6th December 2021 in her glorious 65th year, Edith Levina Jarrett, affectionately known as “Tenny”, died peacefully in the embrace of her beloved husband, Hector Jarrett. Married on 15th October 2015, Edith was blessed to begin a new journey with the love of her life and high school sweetheart. Hector dutifully and lovingly took care of and stayed by her side until she was called home. Edith was a loving mother to Maryann, Kevin (Ieshia), Brian (Sabylla), Natasha, Dionne (Masego) and Natalie (Trey). Adoring “Grandma” or “Granny” to her eighteen grandchildren Anthony, Emmanuel, Tyme, Jahknight, Jahdaye, Yahshia, Jeremiah, Jahshua, Jahnia, Iyahna, Akeila, Elijah, Gabriel, Zionne, Kingsley, Jalen, Marley and Greyson. Leaving behind cherished siblings Norma McLean and Vivian Clarke and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Adonijah and Magdaline Clarke as well as siblings Harold, Fabien, Stephan, Shermett, Martina, Rema, Reukan.
Edith was an accountant for many years and thereafter pursued education in areas such as mortgage, insurance and most dear to her, biblical studies. Edith proudly became Rev. E. L. Jarrett upon receiving her ordination from Canada Christian College (“CCC”). She also obtained her Bachelor in Theology from CCC—one of her happiest moments in life. Truly a lively spirit, Edith was a giver of love, encouragement and hope to many, inspiring those within and beyond her offspring to achieve and live out their dreams. Most notably, Edith inspired many to live beyond circumstance and measure…to look alive and to dance in the rain. She will be tremendously missed.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. Psalm 23:6
