Obituary of Mrs. May Lamrock-Ambrose

Please share a memory of Mrs. May to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of May F. Lamrock (nee Bagley) on December 1, 2021. May was gracefully approaching her 90th birthday and was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.

May was born to the late Robert and Dorothy (Salmon) Bagley in Toronto, Ontario. Both of her parents were born in England which gave May a passion and devotion to Great Britain for her entire life. May was so excited to travel to England in the early 1990s to meet with her relatives who lived in her mother birth place of Compton Martin. May maintained a relationship with her British family members and was in touch with them regularly.

May attended Hughes Public School and graduated to Eastern Tech and Commerce where she studied until entering the workforce. She worked for many years in the medical community and was extremely proud when she was promoted to “Investigator” while working for the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

May had a vivacious personality and always made people around her feel welcome. She made friends everywhere she went, dedicated herself to her family and was nicknamed “Ma Bell” as she kept in touch with everyone via telephone.

May was devoted to her husband Sydney Ambrose for 31 years. Much loved mother of Wendy (Paul), Wayne and Warren. Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey (Jessica) and Brent (Amanda). Great grandmother of Chase and Conner. Dear sister of the late Ron Bagley.  May will be fondly remembered by the Ambrose family as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ma Bell kept in touch with them all!!

May was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grams.

For many years May collected and tried a variety of recipes and eventually compiled her own Cook Book. She expressed her love with food and always had a scone on hand for her grandsons.

In addition to cooking and baking May was a talented crafter. She held annual Craft Sales for 10 years before retiring her sewing machine.

All who knew May, loved her dearly and will never forget her charm, her grace and her undying love. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family has requested a small and intimate service where she will be laid to rest near her home. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for May during her last days.

May / Mom / Grams / Great-Grandma ….. we will love you forever.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society

We would love for you to sign the Guest Book and please feel free to share a story or two of May.

You can shed tears because they are gone, or you can smile because they lived.

You can close your eyes and pray they will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that they left for you.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see them, or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember only that they are gone, or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind and feel empty, or you can do what they would want.

Smile, Open your heart, Love….and go on.
