CIESLOWSKI, Stanley Frank

September 27, 1937 – November 8, 2021

We are overcome with sadness by the loss of Stan, the most amazing husband, dad and grandpa a family could ever be blessed with. He was able to enjoy some final chats about the things he loved with the people he loved, before passing away at home peacefully in his sleep, in his 85th year, with his best friend, soulmate and wife of 56 years at his side.

Stan was known to all as a very selfless, kind, caring and extremely considerate gentleman, who would give the shirt off his back to help a stranger in need and always went out of his way to assist his family with anything they needed. While considered quiet by many, we will dearly miss his humour and wit. He will especially be missed for all those times he patiently listened to everyone, and then proved to be the voice of reason and shared his solution to solve a problem.

Growing up in Windsor, ON, Stan loved playing all sports with his late brother John, before moving to Toronto, ON in the early 1960’s. He began a lengthy career at Confederation Life. It was at “Confed” where he met his future wife Barbara at a company function and asked her to join him at a Toronto Maple Leaf game the following Saturday, and the rest as they say is history. Watching the Leafs on TV and later live games at the arena became a lifelong family activity. In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, Stan spent a lot of time volunteering with the Seven Oaks softball league and particularly enjoyed coaching his own kids’ teams. He also organized a regular Sunday morning pick-up softball game that ran for many years. He continued playing in tournaments with his former Canon/O.E. colleagues well into his 70’s.

Stan enjoyed watching all sports, attending his grandchildren’s activities, reading, completing puzzles (especially Sudokus), gardening and maintaining the family swimming pool in anticipation of visits by his beloved grandchildren, but his favourite passion was simply always being there for all of his family.

Stan is greatly missed by his wife Barbara, his son Dave (Helen) and grandchildren Natalia, Thomas and Mitchy (deceased), his daughter Sandra (Mike) and grandchildren Caellum and Coleden.
