Obituary of Mrs. Winifred "Freda" Marshall

It is with great sadness that we announce our beloved Mother, Freda Marshall passed away peacefully on  Sunday October 31, 2021 surrounded by family at Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care.

She is joined again with her faithful Husband, Ray of 30 years  and her beloved sister, Jean.  Freda was the devoted mother to her loving daughter, Karen and son, Kevin (Louise).   She will be forever missed as loving Nana to her grandchildren, Sarah, Robin and Brian and great grand-daughter, Autumn.  She is predeceased by siblings; Emma, Billy and Jean.

Freda will be greatly missed for her wit, sense of humour, spunk and big heart and  also for telling like it is. She travelled extensively , her favourite, being Australia and loved to sing along to her favourite music and could certainly carry a tune. She and Dad loved ballroom dancing and we had many wonderful family vacations.    Mom loved to cook and bake and she always would have a nice meal for us when we visited after work or on family occasions.

Freda was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada with her husband, Ray in the late 1950's who had a job waiting for him in his trade as a Steamfitter.   Freda worked in retail prior to raising a family and sadly was widowed at 51.   She continued to work part-time at Canadian Tire before retiring.  Mom was a truly kind person and dearly loved animals especially cats and children melted her heart. 

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes taken to Northern Ireland to be placed alongside Ray's. 

We will miss you dearly , Mom, but were lucky to have you so long.
