They say only the good die young - and in my memory of Tom, no truer words can be spoken.
I worked with Tom at Smith Transport from 1973 to 1982 and even after leaving the company, continued to be in touch with him periodically until his retirement. Capable, patient and kind, I consider Tom to have been a good friend and guiding force during the formative years of my time in the transportation business - and while there were many good men in the Pricing Department that I looked up to, Tom was one of the very best. Unfortunately, our paths never seemed to cross again and I am truly saddened to learn of his passing.
Eternal, restful, peaceful sleep Old Friend. The world - and everyone you touched in it, has been made better by just knowing you......and you will be missed.
