Please accept our Condolences on the passing of the matriarch of your family. As pillars in our church community Mary have now left us and joined Deacon Tab, leaving a void. I recall an old Catholic hymn in part which states : “ There is a place of full release, near to the heart of God. A place where all is joy and peace, near to the heart of God.”
The Hindi Poet: Rabindranath Togore (1861-1942 )wrote:
“Death is not extinguishing of the light, but blowing out of the candle, because the dawn has come. I have got my leave, bid me farewell my loved ones. The lamp that lit my corner is out. A summons have come and I am ready for my journey.”
In reflecting on the the above , Mary’s light shun brightly in her lifetime , and while this earthly light is no longer with us the light in our heart will continue to burn with the fire of her compassion and love. Those we love are never far from us, they live forever in our memories. You may recall a smile, or how she would roll her eyes. It may be her chuckle, her smile or a song that lingers.A tear or two will fall but you will be comforted by knowing she is at peace.
Lady Mary as I fondly called her have been a shining light to us, a role model and mentor and one of the “Founding Member” of our Council of the Catholic Women’s League at St Bartholomew. She will be missed and always remembered.
May your family rest your heartache in the compassionate arms of God each day and find comfort from His Enduring Love.
Sam & Sonia.
