Kenneth James Richard Small

The family is sad to announce the passing of Kenneth Small on Friday September 24, 2021.  Ken was a loving and devoted husband to Vera (deceased 2012) for over sixty years.   He was a loving father to his children, Deborah Small of Etobicoke and Don (Cathy) Small of Pickering.   He was the devoted grandfather of Trevor (Erin) Small of Aurora, Brent (Ally) Small of Toronto and Erin (Ed) Ricciardi of Oshawa.   He was a proud great grandfather (aka GG) to his 4 little ladies, Mayson, Riley, Josephine and Everley.  He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Ken was born on July 22, 1930, the third child of Morris and Hazel (nee Acheson) Small, both deceased.  He was predeceased by his three brothers Mervyn, Morley and Keith and is survived by his sisters Gwen Brown of Newmarket and Patricia (Huntley) Heard of Brampton and sister-in-law Vi Small of London.  Ken worked for over 40 years at Golden Mile Chev-Olds in Scarborough and was well respected in the automotive parts industry.  A resident of Scarborough for over 60 years he was a long-time member of West Ellesmere United Church in Scarborough, and enjoyed singing in the choir.  He also sang with the Presbyterian Chorus, the Serenata Singers and the Village Voices.  Ken also enjoyed his time performing with the Scarborough Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Stage Centre Productions and playing his violin at various senior residences.  The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bay Ridges Long Term Care Home in Pickering for their care of dad over the last year.  In lieu of flowers donations to Baycrest Hospital would be appreciated.
