One of my fondest memories of Duncan was at his 40th birthday. I was pretty young, and for some reason had brought my Star Trek collectable cards with me to the party. Even in the midst of all the celebrating with the "grown-ups", I remember he took the time to not only hang out with me for a bit, but also to express interest in my collection. It might not seem like much to most, but at that point in my life it meant the world. Duncan's light in the world will be missed.

Dear Elizabeth Duncan was an original. In the mid-1950s I was lucky enough to live in a neighbourhood populated by a gang of little boys who, at least in my memory, ran free from sunrise to sunset. We scrambled about the nearby woods and ravines. We built forts out of the scrap lumber from construction sites. We were in and out of one another's houses. We raced our bikes up and down. The street served as our football field, our baseball diamond and our hockey rink. We worshipped the St. Catharines TeePees. Duncan will live forever in these memories. The Masterson Drive Hunting and Fishing Club has lost a leader. I am so sorry for your loss. I have conveyed the sad news to my brother Larry who now lives in Arizona and he too sends his condolences. Sincerely Jeff Miller

Dear Elizabeth I am writing to offer my sincere condolences and express my deep sadness with Duncan's passing. I was one of the neighbourhood kids in St. Catharines and lived just a couple of houses away from Duncan and Chris. I have many fond memories of him and although we haven't seen each other in a long time, I know the sadness I feel is a testament to how important that early relationship is to me. When I lite a candle for Duncan, I sat and watched the steady light fill the room and then it gently flickered out. Duncan's life, legacy and memories will fill far more than the room.
