Mrs. Pacita Aragon

Obituary of Mrs. Pacita Aragon

Please share a memory of Mrs. Pacita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Pacita (Chit) Aragon (neé Rosal).  Our beloved matriarch, whom we affectionately called Mamang, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, August 14th, 2021 at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga at the age of 89.

Pacita Aragon was born on April 25th, 1932 to Dionisio Rosal and Velia Ordonez in the city of Cavite.  They had many children: Freddie (deceased), Pacita, Raymie, Domeng, Oscar (deceased) and Lita. She married her loving husband Rodrigo and built a large family in the Philippines before immigrating to Canada in the 1980s. She cared for the elderly as a part of her call to serve until her retirement.  Mamang was a devoted member of her church and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to so many.

Our family is at peace knowing that Mamang will join her great love Papang in heaven. She is survived by her children Vilma (Filemon), June (Lennie), Baby (Doug), Annie (Edwin), Jimmy, Grace (Richard), Richard (Ileen) as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was happy to be able to welcome the newest babies Brayden, Sebastian and Kingsley into the family. Mamang valued family immensely and while Covid made things difficult, it was very important for her to see the ones she loved over this past year.

Mamang was a person of great faith and love.  She never forgot to tell each of her family members that she loved them at the end of a visit.  She prayed dutifully and called on her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to help her through the most difficult times.  Her tiny frame belied her strength that she used to support the many people in her life.  She was a mountain of a woman and will be missed by all.

Visitations will be held at Ogden Funeral Home, 2164 Sheppard Avenue E. in Scarborough on Thursday August 19th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 20th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Please follow the COVID restrictions at the chapel.

Funeral services will be held at the Ogden Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday August 21st at 1:00 p.m. Due to COVID restrictions, there are capacity limits for the service. We encourage you to pay your respects by viewing the service online.

The Family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga and Northumberland Hills Hospital for their care of Mamang in her final days.  We are also grateful for the thoughts and prayers of our family and friends for Mamang.
