Mrs. Pearl Cechetto

Obituary of Mrs. Pearl Cechetto

Please share a memory of Mrs. Pearl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Cechetto, Pearl, nee Malloy - peacefully went home to meet her Saviour on July 7th, 2021 at Shepherd Village.  She was 95 and predeceased by her beloved husband Aldo of 62 years.   “Little Mother” will be greatly missed by her children; Seth (Deborah), Susan (Keith), Janet (Carl) and Esther (Stephen) and was predeceased by her eldest daughter Hannah (Jamie).   Gramma loved to make biscuits and applesauce for her grandchildren; Julie, Derek, Angela, Owen, Esther, Andrew, Ellen, Erin, Laura, Ethan and Emma, as well as her many great-grandchildren.  Pearl came from a large, Christ centred farming family in Nova Scotia, whose members now span Canada from Halifax to Chemainus.   Mother was a loving wife, dedicated homemaker, expert meat pie and bread baker, visitor of “shut-ins” and a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. Pearl believed Proverbs 3:6 “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  She lived a life that modelled Christ’s love for us.  She was consistently caring, strong, positive and joyful. “Pearly” will be fondly remembered by all. The family would like to thank the staff of Shepherd Village for their dedicated care and love for Mom.   A private family service will be held on July 19th at 1:00 pm and streamed live from Ogden Funeral Home (www.ogdenfuneralhome.com).  Please send donations in lieu of flowers to The Canadian Cancer Society.
