Obituary of Mr. Ronald Pinkowski
Ronald Pinkowski
On Wednesday June 30th, 2021, Ron Pinkowski passed away at Scarborough Centenary Hospital following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Ron was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and despite a modest upbringing and numerous obstacles in his early life, he launched his career in the insurance industry as a young man, single-mindedly applying himself to learning his new profession. Always a smart dresser, the young pompadoured man met the love of his life, Vivian Stark, at a community hall dance and swept her off her feet. The couple married on June 14, 1958, and they raised two sons, Kirk and Neil. Hard-working and determined, Ron’s career flourished and spanned 38 years, initially working in Winnipeg before relocating his family to the quiet suburbs of Toronto. Ron will forever be remembered for his unbridled enthusiasm, mischievous wit, sense of adventure, industriousness, and no-surrender attitude. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage he built for his family, entertaining friends there who knew him best for his fondness of lively discussion late into the night. Ron was an avid golfer and tennis player but especially loved curling in his later years. He travelled extensively with his life-long companion and fellow adventurer, Vivian, and they intrepidly explored the world’s marvels together. In his retirement, Ron’s work teaching life skills classes to newcomers to Canada exemplified his goodwill and strong sense of fairness to his fellow man. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Adam, Carter, Emily and Jackson who he loved dearly. A private funeral service will be held for the immediate family. Memorial donations to the War Amps are greatly appreciated in lieu of any flowers.
