Obituary of Mrs. Yuk Wan Li Chan
Family meant everything to Yuk Wan Li Chan, who passed away on April 9, 2021 at the age of 71 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Robert, the steadfast sister-in-law of Anna and Cynthia, the proud mother of Jeannie (Robert), Leslie, and Christopher, and the doting grandmother of Isabelle and Charlie. Yuk Wan and Robert immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong, settling in Scarborough in the 1980s. They faced many hardships, but they overcame them with hard work, determination (some may say stubbornness), and an unfailing devotion to family - values which they passed on to Jeannie, Leslie, and Christopher. Yuk Wan dedicated her life to raising her family. She beamed with pride at all her children’s personal and professional accomplishments. She found joy in milestones like birthdays, graduations, weddings, and the birth of her grandchildren, and in everyday moments like eating her husband's delicious home-cooking and watching her favourite shows. She lived life in the present, guided by goodness and honesty. Her caring, generous, and enthusiastic personality warmed the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be missed beyond words.
A private funeral service will be held on April 23, 2021 before Yuk Wan is laid to rest at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery.
