Words cannot express the sadness I felt on hearing of Garth's passing. We met in Toronto in 1969 ... I had arrived there in 1968 .. and Garth became a dear friend as we both travelled the road from adolescence to adulthood ... alive, lively, loving, different, human, real, dependable, creative and loyal. Even though I left Toronto in 1980, the distance between Toronto and Trinidad was of no significance. He continued to be a source of joy and fond memories for me.
To Garth's family, no words from me can ease your pain ... but rest assured, I share some of that pain with you. I carry you in supportive prayer and I exhort you to be a light to the world. Garth would want it no other way. Be blessed ... be comforted.
You made your difference my friend, you left you mark in my life and in the lives of many ... travel well, my friend, rest in eternal peace.
