The time I spent in the Ruiz apartment, next door, was a significant part of my wonderful childhood memories. Uncle Manuel was always welcoming, but also reminded me when it was time to go home:-) He was strong and fearless, gentle and loving; he was fiercely protective of his family & friends who were like family. He will be greatly missed by so many!
