What a great fellow Welly was. Will miss his smiling face at the retirees events. Such a shock to hear of his passing. Pray that memories will sustain all family and friends during this time.

Dear Mr. Phoa,
Thank you for all the times you let us kids use your home as if it were our own personal space. You and Mrs. Phoa always welcomed in us in with open arms. Some of my fondest memories growing up were watching movies, listening to records, and playing ping pong in your basement. May you rest in peace.

I am sadden to learn of Uncle Welly's passing. My husband (William Lau) is his nephew. Though I have never met Uncle Welly, he is a truly kind man and had sent me many messages of support and encouragement over the years.
My deepest condolences to Uncle Welly's family and loved ones. May the beautiful memories of time spent together bring you some comfort in this difficult time.

My sincere condolences for your loss. I knew Welly from our membership on the Toronto IBM Club - Retirees' Association. He was well liked by everyone, especially those who participated in the golf scrambles. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Dear Mark, Andrew, Tim and Becky,
You were very fortunate to have great parents. I remember those Christmas Eve parties at your house in the late 70s and 80s. I hope you are all doing well.

To all of Wellington's children and grandchilden--you had a most exceptionally kind and caring Father and Grandfather and he often told us how proud he is of you.
I would like to share this simple poem that reminds me of Wellington:
Question not, but live and labour,
Till your goal be won,
Helping every feeble neighbour,
Seeking help from none.
Life is mostly froth and bubble,
But two things stand like stone,
Kindness in another's trouble,
Courage in your own.
Written by Adam Lindsay Gordon
(Brithish/Australian poet - 1833-1870)
Good bye Wellington, Dear Friend. We miss you. We were fortunate to have shared happy times with you these past few years. Thank you. You have made an impression on our hearts.
And, as Wellington always signed off in his email messages,
"A simple act of kindness creates an endless ripple!" Anon
From your friends Margaret and Irene
