Dear Damayanthi, Prem, Oshani and Minoli, and family,
Our deepest sympathies on the passing of Uncle Balasuriya. We fondly remember his visits with us to meet his old friend Mr. Mirza. He would travel all the way from Scarborough to Mississauga and spend time with us. He was intrigued by Mrs. Mirza's chicken curry, so much so that he got her recipe and one day tried it out and brought some back to her for a taste test. He was very close to my dad and wanted to spend some time with him during his final days praying for him. We are truly grateful for all these memories.

I have vivid memories of uncle Balasuriya. Uncle was part of our larger ‘Irrigation family’. A family bonded through hard, honest and tough work sometimes in most remote areas of Sri Lanka. I recollect meeting uncle Balasuriya first at Padaviya in the mid 60’s. In Canada my father (M A M Mirza) kept in touch with his ‘irrigation’ buddies. On several occasions taken him to uncle Balasuriya in Scarborough and spent time with him. Uncle Balasuriya volunteered for many noble ventures. Distributing food for the elderly and his work at the temple were ones we had to frequently take into consideration on meeting up with him. His infectious joy, seriousness and competitiveness while playing chess or cards and his analysis rewarding. I am grateful that he has been part of our lives and one that will be cherished.
Out heartfelt condolences to the family.

Dear Damayanthi, Prem, Oshani, Minoli, Eranga, Sumudu, Achelle, Anique and Savin
Our heartfelt condolences in the loss of your loving Thaatthi, grandpa and great grandpa.
It is our great blessing to have associated with him and you family from the days when Mr. Mirza (our dad) was his colleague at the Irrigation Dept., to then associating as two close families in Canada.
We gratefully remember uncle Balasuriya's care and concern for Mr. Mirza during his illness in 1998 and the numerous visits he made to Sunnybrook hospital to visit him.
Uncle Balasuriya was a guiding beacon and a quiet source of strength to the family. He leaves behind an ever-grateful family. May his meritorious deeds bring him immense rewards.
Mrs. Mirza, Jenneth, Malik, Arshad, Raneem and Ejaz

Dearest Damayanthi Aunty, Pathirane Uncle, Oshani Akki, Minoli Akki, and family,
Please accept our deepest sympathies for the loss of Ranjith Seeya. He was a loving, kind and beautiful person who brought so much happiness to our lives. He always greeted us with open arms, and his signature smile. I still remember going on walks with him in the shopping mall, and listening to his stories about life in Sri Lanka. He was my fathers favorite uncle; a man who always supported and encouraged him. Ranjith Seeya lived a remarkable life surrounded by his doting family. He will be missed by all the hearts that he has touched. He leaves behind an everlasting legacy to all who had the honor of knowing him. Rest in peace dear Seeya.
To Damayanthi Aunty and the family, may you all have strength and comfort through this difficult time. Budu Sarani.
Love always,
Pradeepa, Athula and Kelum

Our deepest condolences to all of you Damayanthi akki. Ranjith uncle has left so many good memories with us. Our family think of uncle as a very caring and helpful , fun loving , humble person who has a big heart with a big smile always. It's not going to be easy for us to remember those memories without you there uncle now. But you lived a beautiful remarkable life that we can be thankful for. When Nayomi was 3 years old every morning you took her to daycare by wheel transit TTC. You did that with so much love. And every time when we have to play a chess game , the first person we remember is you. Because you're on top of it. I remember when you and I lived in the same building in Adanac , we laughed so much playing chess , cooking and so much more unforgettable memories I still cherish. Uncle your kindness goes a long way that we have learned good life lessons from you. You will be dearly missed.
May you attain the Supreme bliss of Nibbana!
