To Lila Mae & all the Watson Family,
my sincere sympathy to you in Gib passing away. Lila, you & Gib were always a wonderful couple together.
I loved visiting you both at your home in Barrie about 10yrs ago.
You both spoke lovingly of your two daughters & all your grandchildren. It was wonderful hearing about all the fun times you spent at your cottage with all your family visiting & making many fond memories.
I remember Lila being my Gr 5 teacher at Inglewood Hts School. Because we were next door neighbours, my whole family knew Gib & Lila well. My parents, Ron & Todd Darbyshire enjoyed your friendship & being your neighbours.
Gib was always friendly & easy to smile & joke around.
He had his true love & soulmate Lila Mae beside him & he cherished all his family & friends.
He was a truly good man who had a long life that was certainly well lived.

We were so very sad to hear of Uncle Gib's passing. We have so many fond memories at family gatherings and at the cottage. He was kind and thoughtful and had a great sense of humour. He always greeted us with open arms and gave the biggest, warmest hugs. Uncle Gib always had a great story to tell and most ended in laughter. He loved to share his life stories in hopes that those of us in the younger generation would learn to live every day to the fullest and know the importance of family and good friends. Sending our love and prayers to Auntie Lou, Debbie, Marie and their families. May you find comfort in all the wonderful memories you created and in knowing that he was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Good-bye for now, not forever, Uncle Gib. May your memory be eternal.
With love,
Andrea, Michael, Vanessa & James

Dear Lou and Family
We are very sad to hear of our good pal Gib passing away. We will remember so many wonderful things about this amazing gentleman...his joyful laugh, his boyish smile, his care and love for everyone and everything and of course his bid euchre play was the best we have ever seen. His love and care for his Lou showed us all how we should deal with our spouses. He was the best in his devotion to his Lou,D.
The world is a much lesser place but Jan and I were one of the many fortunate ones who got to know him and laugh and commiserate with him.He will always be in our prayers as will all of the Watson gang.

Gib will be dearly missed. I grew up with Deb and have so many fond memories of going over to the Watson household, hanging out and being treated with nothing but kindness and respect by Lou and Gib. He was such a wonderful person and someone I greatly respected. Someone who always had a smile on his face and was always so positive and we had a lot of laughs together. He was a dedicated husband and family man and there was never any doubt that his family was his pride and joy. I'm so grateful to have known him and for the time with him over the years and most recently at my home and at the Watson cottage. He was someone who accepted you for who you were and you never felt judged or unwelcome when you were around Gib or Lou. I remember when I was young going by his work with Deb and being in awe of the size of those tow trucks he used to operate. He was smart, loving, with a great sense of humour and when I heard of his loss my heart broke and shed many tears. Although he is gone, he will never be forgotten and all those memories I have as a kid and as an adult will always be there to remember a truly wonderful person.

On behalf of the ALLEN family, originally from Hallville, Ontario we send our condolences to Lila Mae & family.
Our parents Lyall & Beulah did most of their courting while babysitting Lila Mae (Beattie) at the Hallville United Church Manse. Their daughters Gwen, Jean, Nora & Joan have remained in close contact throughout the years.
Gib stopped in one night with his large tow truck just in time to tuck into an Oyster Supper. Good Timing Gib! We cherish our memories.
