To Gerry and all Reg's family: It was with very deep regret that Joanne and I heard of Reg's sudden passing. Our memories are filled with many good times shared. There were some meetings at the church or gatherings for dinner for a special crew of hard workers of which Reg was always one. Reg's joyful spirit permeated all of our experience. As a leader he brought his thoughtfulness and caring to bear in any decision. I counted myself fortunate, as a minister, to be in partnership with such quality.Joanne and I want to express our love for you both and our thanks to God, our Creator, for bringing us together. The years we shared will never be forgotten, from the first meeting we ever had to the last.
We send our deepest concern for you as a family and encourage you to celebrate the new life into which Reg has entered Celebrate it, while you recall how much Reg has given of himself and his faith in this life so that you may look forward with hope to seeing each other again.
The peace and love of Christ be to you! Rev. Dan and Joanne Yourkevich

I am very saddened to learn of the recent passing of Reginald McArthur of Knox Untied Church .I have had the opportunity to be
involved in many of of the church activities' with Reg over the years. As I reflect on many functions such as 'Advent Dinner', 'Fall Fair', 'GST Auction' etc.., Reg was always willing to assist or help out and made himself readily available. Reg will be sadly missed. Kind regards,

Reg was my principal at Gvins/Shaw. He was always cheerful and had a great sense of humour. He kept things calm and focused. Reg always found a way to get things done and to find resources that would help the classroom teacher; and ultimately the students.
Occasionally, I drive down Shaw and think of the good times with Reg. Truly, a gentleman, and a happy man.

Aunt Gerry, Jennifer & Kathie, and families, sincere condolences from myself, Jeanne, Allan, Donna, and our families. May all your wonderful memories be in your hearts always. I had always looked forward to seeing Uncle Reg at each & every Masterson Family Reunion. He was "the one" who gave the blessing before the meal, and nobody ever would have expected anyone but him to do so. The photo of Uncle Reg, by himself, was one he requested I take to post on my daily Blog with an "honorable mention", and yes this happened just for him on my blog post of August 18th, 2016. My memories of Uncle Reg will always be ones which put a smile on my face.
Rest in Peace Uncle Reg,
Love Always Cindy (Masterson)

There is a wonderful hymn in the United Church hymn book, ‘Voices United’ entitled ‘Give to us Laughter’ Reg gave us all the gift of laughter! He was a great storyteller and his stories always had a punch line, but also, an underlying message, the gift, and talent of a great teacher and true educator.
I was deeply blessed in my life and in my ministry to know and befriend Reg McArthur. It has been said jokingly that in the United Church we celebrate 3 sacraments; Baptism, Communion, and Coffee Hour. Nowhere was that more true or evident than at Knox, Agincourt. On Sundays, at the Knox United Coffee Hour, there was always one table where people would squeeze in an extra chair and the laughter was louder than any other place in the room. You always knew that was the spot where Reg was holding court and most often the laughter was in response to one of his wonderful stories. Although in good ministerial fashion one needs to ‘work the room’ sooner or later drawn in by the crowd and Reg’s magnetic personality, I too would end up sitting at that table! The laughter, as the hymn says, would give us all, myself included, ‘wholeness and health.’ My prayer today is that we will all, especially right now, learn from God’s servant, Reg that ‘Laughter and love...even in sorrow and hours of grief, bring God’s healing relief.’
Thanks, Reg! I miss you, Good Friend!
Go Leafs Go! (A true Hab’s fan, I thought I would never hear myself say that!)
