I am so saddened to hear of John passing. I was in shock just now when i called to place an order. I have known John for 30 years, he was a woderful man and full of knowledge, he has helped many times during the years and he always given me excellent advice. John i will miss dearly and it was my honor to have meet you and become good friends. When i called in, he always asked about my parrots. He asked if he could meet them. He delivered my order that day. When he saw them his face just lit up and i will always remember that smile.

Having known John for 35+ years, it was a shock and still hard to realize that he has passed. I so enjoyed seeing and discussing so many interesting topics with him… Such a wealth of knowledge and so generous at sharing. My fondest memories of British Columbia were based on the places John suggested I visit. Deep condolences. He will be dearly missed.

It was a great shock when I was advised of John's unexpected death this past December. For many years John was a well regarded and respected business colleague in the esthetics and skin care distribution industry and over time he became a trusted and supportive friend. John was intelligent, and as such over time we shared many wide ranging stories and discussions over our constant, ongoing and challenging business issues, as well as on a personal level. John loved and was devoted to his family, his wife Lise, his two sons, his grandchildren and families. He discussed his early years and past work, the vicissitudes of life, his love for shared travel experiences, the greatness of this country and especially the beauty of British Columbia where he planned the future.
John was a gentleman, and will be missed.

My grandfather was a kind and loving person to everyone around him including me. These past few days preceding the viewing I heard all sorts of stories from friends and family that I had never heard before today and I listened very carefully. Stories that I will never forget, and stories that emphasized just how loving, humorous; and how much of a character he was. We had our differences, and we were on the road to getting closer. I just hope he knew how much I loved him, despite the complications of life, and how much I cared for him.
It's been a difficult past couple of days; but I know that he would be proud and happy watching his friends and family come together to celebrate his life. Most of all, this has shown me how important someone can be to you without you fully realizing it at times. I will go forward and try to be more present in my family, succeed and excel in my future schooling, and hopefully fix/ride that bike he was working on for me.
Grandpa, if somehow you saw us today and every day going forward; you will be missed... and I love you.

I am so sorry about John's sudden death. It was absolutely shocking, heart broken and deeply upsetting for me. I still can't accept about his untimely departure. After 25 long years relationship with him I realized there will never be a man like him and his memory will live on forever.

Hearing that Hans passed away was a big shock for Marijke, Me and the whole family here in Holland.

Hi Lise,
I am so sorry to hear about John. It is such a shock and I know the members at BPYC are saddened by your loss.
Years ago, at haul out, the weather was miserable. I was working with another member, all day in the cold and rain. John saw us and came over with an umbrella and stood behind us to help protect us. Even better, he gave us dark chocolate. I will alwasy remember that moment.
