"The heart of a good man is the sanctuary of God in this world"
It is said that good fences make good neighbours, so it is a telling sign that the fence between the Sismanoglu backyard and ours was a chain link one which for over 30 years allowed for the kind words of friendship to flow freely, the mint to be passed over generously and the fragrance of roses to be shared - along with delicious jam. As a neighbour, we could not have have been blessed with a better friend.-always willing to lend a hand and offer help in any way that he could. As the "Dedo" (grandfather) next door, Nishan took as much pleasure in our children's accomplishments as he did in those of his own grandchildren : always with a joyous smile and a twinkle in his eyes. He was excited to hear all the good news of their accomplishments and their travels as they grew, and liked to share wisdom and advice on how to approach life. A gentleman, a philosopher, a person of conviction and character. We are blessed for having known him, and while his passing is a sad time for us all, the shared memories and his laughter and smile will always be remembered.
Our deepest sympathies to his beloved Arsho, to Annie (of whom he was so proud), to the family and extended family who shared many memories, and especially to grandsons Alexandre and Mathieu who brought Nishan immeasurable joy and happiness
