It is with deeply heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sydney Barayang Vertesi (Scarborough, Ontario). She passed away on November 15, 2020 at the age of 26.

She was part of our family and was cherished and loved very much. There are no words that can truly describe the meaning of this loss, how she will be missed by us. Those of you who knew her know how special of a person she really was. 

Syd was piercingly bright, a force not to be reckoned with. Fearless, with a fiery personality that made her shine! Her favourite trait about herself was that she was very adaptable in any environment. 

She was extremely creative, had a big heart and a lot of love to give. 

Sydney was proud of her ancestry and roots, being a beautiful mix of Filipino and Hungarian descent. 

She craved success and desired further growth in her personal life.

Sydney was daughter to Gloria and Laszlo (passed away in 2015), sister to Christina (David) and Auntie to Madison and Scarlet. She was a niece and cousin to many abroad and a dear friend.

Our hearts will ache everyday she is not here with us.
