Dear Pastor Upton
We remember fondly getting to know you and Mrs. Upton at Bethel when you were the interim pastor two times.
Mrs. Upton was a treasure. She was so warm and friendly and she had a great sense of humour as well. I was fortunate to receive one of her plates when you were here. It is a wonderful remembrance to have. Please know that Don and I are praying for you and your family during the days ahead. Thank you to both you and Mrs. Upton for pouring into our lives and giving us so much of yourselves.
Love, Joan & Don Hoskins

My condolences to you Pastor Upton, Judy and Linda. Mrs. Upton was a true lady - kind, loving, attentive and beautiful. Her compassion for all of our family and everyone at Bethel in the years they served as our pastors left an imprint on many of the youth who grew up there. I loved her smile and her laugh. She was a light - and she will shine on through all those she touched.

Dear Pastor Upton,
How sad we were to hear that Aileen had become ill and subsequently passed into the presence of the Lord. Although sad for her physical loss here on earth, we rejoice with the angels that she's in the presence of her Lord whom she loved very deeply. Whenever we saw her at General or District Conferences, Shepherd Village, Lakeshore, or a church somewhere, she ALWAYS gave us the most wonderful hug and she never failed to tell us how proud she was of us. She assured us that she was following our life's journey and praying for us along the way. As a couple, you have been great mentors and encouragers for many ministry couples, us included; a wonderful example of partnering together in ministry. May God bless you and be with you as you grieve her absence beside you.
With love,
Murray and Cindy Cornelius

Dear Pastor Upton, Judy, Linda and families:
On behalf of the Mosley Family, Darlene Pasiuk (Mosley), Shane Mosley, Cindy Cornelius (Mosley) Wayne Mosley, Charlene Wolthuizen (Mosley), we wish to express our condolences on the passing of your beautiful Aileen. Mrs. Upton cared deeply for our family all the years we were at Bethel in Ottawa. For us kids growing up, she prayed for us, laughed with us, taught us, loved on us, was an amazing example of how a godly woman lives life. She always had a wonderful smile and a twinkle in her eyes. She will be missed.

Dear Reverent Gordon Upton.
I am very saddened to learn of the passing of your wife Aileen. It's just 3 years ago when I was entrusted with the sale of your beautiful home in Skymark and I really got to know her. She was a real pleasure to work with. What a kind and gracious lady, and so talented. One of her hand- painted china plates is on display in my home. I will always cherish it.
Thinking of you and your family at this time and sending you my heartfelt prayers.

My remembrance of Mrs. Upton was how she welcomed us as a family into the Pentecostal Church which was new for us at the time and how she made sure that my brother and myself were introduced to the youth group and were connected there. I often think that if God hadn't used her, where would we be and all the friendships we still enjoy today. My sympathies to you, Pastor Upton, Judy and LInda. She will be missed.

Dear Reverend Upton and family,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Upton.
We had the privilege of meeting her on several occasions at APC and after very brief chats it was clear to us how dignified and gracious a person she was. Of course you and I got to know each other when we served together on the Board of Eastern Pentecostal Bible College. I want you to know how much I appreciated you during those years. Like so many others no doubt during your long ministry, I was impressed by your caring demeanour and your ability to make me and others feel special. Thank you for your faithful ministry.
Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time, one that is both difficult and celebratory at the same time.
Sincerely,
Karen and Melvin Regular

Aileen was an absolute jewel. When we moved into this District in 1978 we were so warmly welcomed by Aileen and Gordon, who at that was the District Superintendent. We had been called by the Ottawa Bethel Pentecostal Church congregation to pastor that church where the Uptons had served as Lead Pastors for 16 years. Always by his side, affirming and encouraging, Aileen has mentored and blessed thousands of lives over her 90 years of life. Multitudes will surely rise up and call her blessed!

This past May 2020, I felt strongly that I needed something in writing from this beautiful, classy, so loving and prayerful woman of God. I thank God I was able to share it with a number of female pastors in ministry. Aileen always went out of her way to ensure that she greet me, encourage me and speak confidence into me as a female pastor, from the early years when she saw me in PAOC.
The brief narrative she wrote, of a life fully devoted to God and to the people both her and her husband served, will remain as a voice of maturity, encouraging and beautiful comfort for all us women in ministry. I have watched Mrs. Upton since I began in ministry approaching 30 years now – and her posture was always unchanging. She demonstrated a resolute quiet spirit, a faithfulness to God, a love for the ministry and a supportive stance to all ladies whom she encountered. I have not only seen her in action, but been a recipient of her numerous encouragements. And there are more great women such as her out there.
I used her narrative to remind other female Pastors that mentorship is not only those who train us, but also those who we can observe as trainers! Aileen Upton was an incredible Mentor and Encourager! Miss her dearly with tears. Rev Marie Miller, Pickering Pentecostal Church, ON
