I am deeply saddened at the loss of your dear mother & nonna (and my zia Felicetta) – and offer most sincere & heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
Zia will forever have a special place in my heart, she was very special to me and I loved her very much, I never saw a frown on her face, she was always smiling or laughing. I especially remember on some recent visits with her, how she would share stories and recount family tales from the past. She had an incredible memory and shared some emotional stories in very vivid detail – in particular about my father, Carmelo, and also her brother (my uncle & namesake), Rocco, who died in WW2. She would get very emotional, but somehow was able to mix her tears with a smile in a way that only she could do, all the while holding my hand with a gentle yet firm grip, ensuring that I not only heard, but felt, the message. Zia will forever be missed, and may she rest in peace as she joins all those she so dearly loved that left before her.
