Obituary of Mr. Thomas Stevenson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tommy Stevenson on August 17, 2020 at the age of 79. A skilled electrician and avid golfer, Tommy was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Elizabeth Kelly and Thomas Stevenson in 1941. One of three children, he grew up near Celtic Park, where he began his lifelong love affair with football and snuck into games from time to time with the help of sympathetic stadium staff. In 1967, Tommy left Scotland for Canada, landing in Toronto. There he met the love of his life Margaret Weeks, whom he married in 1972. They spent some time turning heads and ballroom dancing before settling down to raise their kids. Tommy had long and close friendships in both the Celtic and Rangers supporters clubs in Scarborough, which surprised no one who knew and loved him. Predeceased by his brother James, he is survived by his sister Betty, three children Carol, Ryan (Jane) and Lesley (Nigel), and his grandsons Richard, Emmet and Mason. Tommy was a devoted granddad and his grandkids were the light of his life. Tommy worked hard all his life and loved his family and friends deeply. He meant a great deal to a great many people, and he is loved and missed.
