When my wife Kim, sons Basil, Luke and I lived on Third Street in Etobicoke we would often see Ray and Mary. We really enjoyed our encounters. My sons and I used to play ball hockey in front of their apartment with the beautiful view of the lake. One of our favourite memories of Ray and Mary was one Halloween when they showed up at our front door all dressed up to Treat or Treat. Approximately 8 years ago Ray generously offered to paint portraits of our whole family. These portraits are something that we will always treasure. I really love Ray's self-portrait. I think he really captured his smile and unassuming manner. The backward baseball cap is a nice touch and says so much about his joy of life. What a great guy! My condolences to Mary and all his family and friends.

Very saddened to hear about the passing of Ray. He was one of those people that could light up any room he walked into. I would see him often at church with his beautiful wife Mary. Ray drew a beautiful portrait of me which I have framed. I am so blessed to have had my life touched by him and his kind and gentle presence. Rest In Peace Ray, you will never be forgotten. All my love and prayers to the family and to Mary
