Elaine is dear to my heart and was a special part of our family. She had a witty and joyful spirit that created many fond memories. As children, my brothers and I looked forward to the many dinners at her place… playing Chinese checkers, learning to knit from her mother Cecilia, singing and just goofing around. She always enjoyed interacting with us. As an adult, although she still called me “the kid”…we developed a friendship and enjoyed many getaways full of laughter, good times and food! She was a devoted person….caring and generous, and enjoyed much of the little things around her, especially conversations!
A memory she had and must have brought up to me every couple of years…when we were kids and asked after dinner if we wanted ice cream….we all said yes, but my little brother Bruce asked “what flavor is it?”… she gasped….”what flavor is it?!....well do you want it or not kid?!”
She will be missed. Peace be with her.
My condolences to the Landry family.
Julie Bruce (Stewart)

As a child, I would visit Elaine (and her mother Ceil)..., lots of memories;
...being allowed to take pennies from the Turtle 'piggy-bank' (which Elaine gave to me many years later), and run up the street to buy candy, ....playing in the park across the street and visits to the library across the street, where I purchased my first copies of Stuart Little and Charlotte's Webb at a library book sale..., visits to Centre Island.., just to name a few.
Elaine would always say "I'm going to marry this kid one day"..., and as I got older it was always - "when are we getting married kid.., I'm getting old ya know". At one of Ceil's big Birthday parties, (85th or 90th, I can't recall exactly...), I brought my karaoke machine and sang a lot of songs, one of them being Elvis' - "Don't". Elaine really liked that one, and ever since, she would always say, (...and I can hear her now) - "hey Bruce, hey, hey Bruce, sing Don't"..., and then she would start singing the first few lines - "Don't... Don't....".
Sadly missed, forever cherished - wishing Elaine peace in Heaven above.
Bruce Stewart xoxo

Elaine will be missed by our family. She was part of my life growing up as well as that of my children and grandchildren. She enjoyed all the family events, weddings, birthdays, holiday dinners and parties. Elaine was enthusiastic and a lively conversationalist. She leaves us with many happy memories.
Carolyn Stewart and family.

I am quite saddened.l Auntie Elaine was a person that myself and brothers liked to visit because she was so "cool man" ; she would walk into the room when we are watching tv and say; "So what are you kids looking at?" That was Elaine. She loved to be with the younger generation---and we all loved her. I admire that she could communicate with young people over generations. She one time took me to a 'retreat' off lake Erie; and therefore I only thought of her as my Aunt. She was like one of us ; the next generation. When I had cancer issues as a kid--she and my father took my to 'china town Toronto' ; She was and is FAMILY.
I should mention that Elaine who was taught at Loretto Abbey school as my mother was---Elaine was my Mothers babysitter. and after was and is a solid family member. We refer about her as aunt Elaine. Quick wit and could entangle a solid argument either way---I loved that when I was being a 'teenage rebel' --"-just throw that thought passed aunt Elaine! " I have always missed you Elaine and you will be remembered. Gary Thomas Stewart (Marg Buck - Carolyn Buck -mom)
