My condolences to Jocelyn and family. I have very fond memories of Ron through my ministry as Area Bishop of York Scarborough. In my mind Ron is "an Israelite without guile." Humble, dedicated, responsible. One gift I particularly appreciate is his preaching. This gift made a special impression on me after my retirement, and his, when he preached regularly at St. Timothy's, Agincourt. With his eyesight he wrote everything out and read from a script. But the content was always well thought out and artfully crafted. I wrote to some friends that this proves that the trend of spontaneous preaching is overrated. His content revealed his heart: a faithful Christian in tune with his Lord, with whom he is resting, very likely with something like, "well done, good and faithful servant." Bishop Patrick Yu

Please accept my sincere condolences. As a priest, and later as a Suffragan Bishop in the Diocese of Toronto, it was my honour and pleasure to have known Ron as a colleague and a friend. He was always at the centre of life, often playing the piano, at our Clergy Conferences, Synods, and clergy gatherings . During my time as the Incumbent of All Saints', King City, Ron served in the neighbouring parish of Maple. He at my side when I was elected a bishop in December 2000. Then, when I was the Area Bishop of York-Simcoe, Ron moved to Pentanguishene and served as my Regional Dean in Huronia. Like my wife Linda, he was from New York state. My memories include Ron and Jocelyn and their two children visiting us in Minden during their stay at Maple Sands Resort, long conversations about our beloved church, singing around the piano at our Regional Deans' annual dinner, and having a laugh together over a single malt scotch. He will be missed. Jocelyn, please know that you and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers. May Ron rest in peace and rise in glory. +George Elliott

My deepest sympathies to Jocelyn and family. Father Ron was a kind and faithful servant of God. It was my privilege to be part of All Hallows parish in Toronto 1987-90. He baptized our daughter Monica. It was good to see him occasionally at Diocesan functions when I returned to the Diocese of Toronto as a priest beginning in 2012.
