I've known George for 35 years. We we're extremely close. We double dated with his wife Heidi in the '80's. I'm forever grateful for his friendship. His perspective on business and life. We were like brothers. Just before his passing we chatted and it was like no time had passed. I had no idea he was sick. There was such comfort in our conversation and I looked forward in seeing him again. I'm devastated to find out of his passing. Such a beautiful soul. My heart goes out to his family. He will always be in my thoughts. George, thank you for your friendship.

Devasted to hear about George's passing. I realize it's been years and with Covid, hard to be in touch with everyone at all times. To me, George was a gem, generous, kind, and heartwarming character whenever I visited Valentino's in Whitby for services. I had the pleasure of having him take over to cut my hair too if there were overbookings. I enjoyed his stories and his company. he will be missed. Rest in peace George, Stephanie LeFort

I am just reading this now due COVID communications gaps. To George's and Vasile's family, I offer my sincere condolences for such a great loss - grateful only that his passing was at home surrounded by the family that was always in his words and thoughts.
I remember how shocked I was that day at Valentino's to hear George was battling Cancer. He had dropped by to visit. Nothing in his demeanour, as he chatted with me (a long time client) or the staff, showed any indication of the battle he was waging. He was the inspiring, upbeat, caring, sincere, happy person George always was - remembering your name and never failing to stop to chat.
I certainly couldn't claim any special status or closeness to George or anyone at Valentino's. Yet he never failed to remember key events in my life, such as my daughter's upcoming wedding. Having met her once when she waited for me, George had asked her to be a hair model. Shocked to hear she would have to give over complete control over what happened to her long hair, she shyly declined the offer. We often laughed about that later.
George always asked about my latest planned trip to Barbados. Also, when a family member of mine stressed whether to endure a long daily commute to her Toronto Salon after her maternity leave, I emailed George to ask if he could offer her some advice. He graciously met with her and even offered the best opportunities he had at the time - always honest, never misleading. It was very much appreciated!
George, I hope you're smiling up there as you read all these messages! Thank you for your kindness and always making me feel like someone special over 35 years at your beautiful, unsurpassed Valentino's ... the GEM of downtown Whitby even Durham still today ... your legacy really!! You always made my days better and I still think of you every time I go there! You done great kiddo!

Though I knew George for only a short while, it was my good fortune to have met him and share a few dinners together. I knew instantly George was a gentleman of the highest order; kind, polite, engaged, funny, respectful and energetic, even in his time of treatments with this disease. I know he is loved and missed by so many and that is a testament to the mark he made on many lives. May you rest in peace, George, and know that no man remembered is ever really gone.

Dear Vasile, Heidi, Debra and families, It is only today that I to heard about George's passing. My deepest condolences to you all. George was such an optimistic, positive individual who always managed to lift one's spirits. It was obvious that he wanted to be the best at his calling, and he achieved his goal. He could not give a haircut without imparting so much of his energy and enthusiasm to his client. I always left the salon feeling calmer, happier and more energized, an added bonus to my fabulous haircut. I will miss George. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear about George's passing. New to Whitby....and in need of a good salon - in 1991 I discovered Valentino's and spent many fine times having George do my cuts..........his passion for his family........for his business.........his customers.....and his team were evident in everything he did. I was so glad that George also spent time teaching in his Academy - bringing his skillset to those who wanted to learn. An amazing man............such a loss.................am thinking of you all.

I have known George for many years as a business associate through his involvement in Valentinos and Salon Blunt. I always knew him to be a kind but direct person who had incredible love and loyalty to his family. He always spoke kindly of people and gave them credit for the best in their character. He was passionate about peoples potential and always seemed to promote their possibilities. He showed true Christian kindness and forgiveness towards others. He shared with me often his love and high praises for his brother and nieces as well as his love and commitment for his own family. I will, as I am sure all that knew him, miss him. He is at peace and I pray that his family are able to take some measure of comfort that he has left this world a better place for his time he spent in it.

Thinking of Heidi, Emily, Nadia, Steven and family at this incredibly difficult time. Having grown up on the same street as the Tsinokas family, I spent a lot of my childhood in George's backyard. I remember back in the day he set up an appointment for me at Valentino's to put highlights in my hair for the very first time when I was in grade 8! As an adult, I would run in to him from time to time when I was out for a walk, and he was always up for a little chat. I was incredibly shocked to hear the news of his passing and will miss seeing him in the neighborhood. RIP Mr. T!

George Tsinokas was born in Toronto on September 25 1964
Parents Angelos & Katina Tsinokas from Vevi, Florina Greece
He had 3 siblings, Mary Vasile and Pat
When George met his wife Heidi in 1985, it was love at first sight, they grew up together being inseparable best friends and happily married for 30 years.
They had three beautiful children Emily, Nadia and Steven.
George was an incredible father and dedicated himself to his family first. He loved to travel with his family, he loved sports and great food.
As a successful co-owner of Valentino's Grand Salon in Whitby, George loved people, and people loved George, they were naturally drawn to him.
He had a bright light in him and it would shine on everyone he met, instantly making people feel important, safe and welcome in his presence.
George was caring and thoughtful, kind and sensitive.
A generous and positive man who was passionate for life, he was instantly loveable and loved by many.
We can all take comfort to know George is now at peace, he is with God and his light will forever shine bright from Heaven.
God bless this beautiful man.

I was always so excited to visit the Tsinokas home because I knew upon my arrival I would get the most energetic, loving welcome into his home and family. And despite meeting George after his diagnosis, he managed to make me and many others completely forget because of how much light and positivity he brought into the room when he walked in. My sincerest condolences to Heidi, Emily, Nadia, Steven and the rest of their family at this time, especially today. I could yell from the rooftops how much light and energy George brought to us all - but that’s very apparent here already reading as he was so loved. George was like another father to me as I grew up and matured at Valentino’s. He had a special bond with each of us, and knew exactly what we needed. George would say “Dear, people may not remember what you said, but they’ll remember how you made them FEEL.” And that is just one of the examples I will carry with me forever. I hope your loved ones trust we all will carry on your legacy with everything you taught us or guided us toward. God has a plan for everything we may not understand just yet, but I know I was meant to meet you in this lifetime. I can’t write enough thank you’s here - but I thank you for every opportunity, every moment you made me feel so special, when you were hardest on me because you knew I could do it and believed in all of us. I don’t want to say goodbye, but I will definitely say “see you later!”. You will be deeply missed, but loved immensely. Love, Kitty Kat.

George would light up a room as soon as he entered one. Before I worked at Valentino’s, I worked with his oldest daughter Emily at Starbucks. George would order “The Emily Special” and without question I knew his drink order. He would always say “Julie, you should be a hairstylist!” , so naturally I took his advice. I’ve also become extremely close with his two nieces Victoria and Spenser who demonstrate the same leadership and inspiration that George did. George, I will love you and miss you always. Lead with integrity and ambition. That is what George inspired in me. When you try harder, you will do better.
George Tsinokas became my mentor and boss with his brother Vasile when I was just 18. They led with heart and wisdom. They taught us how to design our own success with an elevated bar for excellence.

To the Tsinokas Family.
I am so saddened by the loss of George. To this day, I cannot hold back my tears. I've enjoyed working with George for over 35 years. He was not only a client, but also a dear friend. There was no one more honest than George and there will never be one. I will miss him so much. George, rest in peace. You were one truly amazing human being.

What a beautiful soul. Words cannot describe a man like George. A wonderful friend and a true mentor to so many. George led by example and was the first to lend a helping hand or give advice so openly and genuinely. He would light up any space he entered. We will miss your smiling face and sound business advice so much. There is a very special place for you in all of our hearts and you will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace and continue your journey of kindness and giving. Love Sean, Trish and the entire Copper Branch team.

My mentor, my friend, my inspiration, my encourager. You were such a shining light to me and so many others. You truly had a gift to be able to connect with everyone, and see the best in every person. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you. You helped shape me into a better version of myself. I will forever cherish all of the memories, opportunities you have given, life lessons and love & laughter that you always shared. You will never be forgotten.
Until we meet again,
Sophia.
My sincere condolences to all of the Tsinokas family, and the Valentinos family at this time.

When I first met George he came into my dad’s Donut World Impersonating George Ridlgeley of Wham. Years later he hired both my sisters at Valentino’s and he was part of our big fat Greek family. He came to me a few years ago because he wanted to introduce his family, especially the kids, to their Greek heritage by taking them to Greece. He spent endless hours planning that trip and when he returned he had this big smile on his face. He told me that they connected with his heritage and he was so proud to be able to do this for them. He worked hard and loved Heidi and his kids so much. Every moment was special to him and he was special to us. You will forever be remembered and missed.

My condolences To Heidi, Nadia, Steven and Emily and all of Tsinokas family. George was amazing man who touched the lives of some many people especially the Valentinas. There was never a day where he didn't cheer us all on, called us dear, asked about our day or made us feel special and that we mattered. He was a caring and gentle soul. I'll never forget the day he invited me to celebrate Easter with your family so I don't have to be alone. That's the kind of man he was...gentle, caring, compassionate. Thank you George for all that you did...you will truly be missed by all of us. Rest in Peace my Dear

To the man with the warmest heart. You inspired everyone around you not only to be amazing at what they do but also to be someone who makes everyone feel good. The lessons you taught go far beyond the classroom and the salon and have left an imprint on everyone’s life. It’s difficult to accept you’re gone but you truly live on in the lives of everyone you’ve known, we’re all better people because of you.
Thank you.

Saddened to hear that my friend and past employer has passed away . He was such a inspirational man to work for with a great outlook in life. I will miss not seeing him when I visit valentinos he always came over to me with a big smile and hug " hey WEAZIE" ( that was his nickname for me )how's life, how's the family" .. He always made effort to talk with everyone and would always talk excitingly about the salon . The industry has lost a talented and caring man. My deepest condolences go out to the entire Tsinokas family . RIP George Tsinokas.

I was about 13 and he was about 19 or 20 when George started cutting my hair. Valentino’s became like home through my teen years and he gave me so many crazy, fun and creative hair styles and then Deborah came along with colours that were, in those days, pretty wild. we had so much fun. Until George retired, no other person had ever cut my hair in all those years - for real! He even came in to Toronto on his own time and did my hair for my wedding as a gift ... and when I rushed home from Asia for my dad’s funeral he made time to make me presentable when I literally showed up at the salon looking like a wreck on a Saturday morning with no appointment. I feel like he and I grew up together and he was there through so much of my life. He was one of the most positive, vibrant and creative people I’ve ever know. And always so full of joy. His family meant everything to him. He will be missed by so many.

Your beautiful, carrying, nurturing soul and your playful, powerful and inspiring spirit will be missed, my Dear George. But you will always, always live in my heart. The memory of you and what we shared in this very short journey in this life time, will stay with me to eternity.
I’m lovingly supporting your new journey in spiritual realms, and I can already feel your spirit and hear your beautiful voice. I know that you will be with me, in spirit, in many years to come.
Rest In peace, knowing that your contribution in this life time has been significant and that you made a difference in so many lives. I feel privileged and honoured that we have crossed each other’s path.
I will miss your beautiful hugs and when you shout “Veeeesna is in the building”, when I go to Valentino’s.
But know that, you will never be forgotten.
Your family will be very well supported at this time of deep grief.
Oceans of love to you, my Dear George, and to your family!!
Wishing you beautiful and peaceful journey with this transition. Vesna

Uncle George was one of kind. He always knew how to make everyone smile. He brightened everyone’s day and reminded us to be the best versions of ourselves. I admire how he was never afraid to be silly, he was just a big kid himself, we were so lucky to have such an amazing uncle that did so much for us and would do anything to make us laugh. I am so proud of everything that he has accomplished and how many lives he touched, I am proud to call him my Uncle. Rest In Peace, you will never be forgotten. Love you xx

Dear Heidi, Emily, Nadia & Steven;
George was a wonderful man who loved and cherished his family. He always had a positive attitude and was filled with lots of love. He was very inspirational and extremely generous to me and both my sons (Jason & Jefffery) and for that we are very thankful. We will miss him deeply.
He left us quietly
His thoughts unknown,
But he left us a memory,
We are proud to own.
Though his smile is gone forever
And his hand we cannot touch
Still we have so many memories,
Of the one we loved so much
His memory is our keepsake,
With which we’ll never part;
God has him in his keeping,
We will have him in our hearts.
Forever loved, dearly remembered
And sadly missed ...
by his sister Mary, brother-in-law Bob, nephews Jason & Jeff xoxo

Where do I even begin?
George was an amazing human being. His mission was to impact everyone he met with his positive energy & uplifting spirit. He was a mentor, teacher, friend, role model, boss, son, brother, uncle and husband, father.
When we were kids he was always our favorite Uncle. We got to listen to loud music in his car, he always took us to Dairy Queen. Our cousin sleepovers at his house were the best because we got to stay up past bedtime and go for late night swims. He always brought laughter to our Christmas dinners and family events.
I am so proud to work in the place that made me who I am today; the salon that my Dad and Uncle built together. The walls hold so many memories of the hearts he touched, and lives he changed. He always believed in my career and succes as a hairdresser. He provided so many opportunities to me and to everyone in our Valentino's family. I'm so fortunate to have learned from him, travelled with him, and to have had the pleasure to work with him every day for over 12 years.
I don't think I'll ever be able to say all the things I want to say... This has got to be one of the hardest goodbyes ever. For me, and so many others who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our family will never be the same. His presence will be missed forever. He is gone too soon.
I love you. I miss you. I will never forget you.
Love, Little Dear ❤️
