Obituary of Mrs. York Lin Lui 呂伍若蓮太夫人

It is with deep sorrow that the family of York Lin Lui (nee Ng) acknowledge her passing on May 26th, 2020. York will be missed by her husband Peter, and her 3 sons, William (Pearl), Danny (Dorothy) and John (Karen) and her grandchildren Wesley (Amy), Meghan, Alexander, Gregory (Abby), Sydney and Jayson. She is a beloved sister to Kuen, Mui, Cammy, Andy, Ken, Amy, and Ming. York was born in GuangZhou, China. She moved to Hong Kong as a teenager where she met her husband, Peter. Along with her husband they started their first store selling minerals and later refocused on repackaging honey products. She continued to actively participate in the business after giving birth to her sons. She graduated from culinary school in preparation for her immigration to Canada. Her culinary skill contributed tremendously in the wildly successful seafood restaurant, the Pink Pearl. She had a strong Buddhist faith and frequently volunteered in various charity and Buddhist organizations. Her love of her extended family moved her in not just sponsoring them, but tirelessly helping them in establishing their lives in Canada. She loved to entertain and enjoyed cooking delicious meals for anyone who crossed her threshold. Her generosity of spirit and unfailing love will always be remembered and admired. Funeral service is held on June 3rd at 10am 我們家人懷着沉重的心情宣佈呂伍若蓮在2020年5月26日安息。丈夫呂偉強和三個兒子及家人，大兒子肇輝（William、媳Pearl）二兒子肇昌 (Danny, 媳Dorothy)，三兒子肇基 (John, 媳Karen)，孫兒：Wesley, (孫媳Amy); Meghan; Alexander; Gregory (孫媳Abby); Sydney and Jayson 同表哀慟摰念。 若蓮的長兄：伍權、弟妹：若梅、若華、于鏗、于健、德荃及德明 將會永遠懷念她 若蓮1936年出生於中國廣州、青少年時搬落香港，並在此認識她的丈夫偉強。開始和丈夫一同創業售賣白凡、之後再做蜂蜜包裝生意。若蓮一生勤奮，甚至在生產後仍然在生意上作她丈夫的好幫手。她移民加拿大前又就讀烹飪學校，增加自己的技能。出色的廚藝令她當時合夥的珠城大酒樓生意極其成功。 她生前篤信佛教，曾參與不同的慈善活動，出錢出力。 她對他的家人極其關心疼愛，不但幫助親戚移民加拿大，並且盡其力協助他們適應當地生活。若蓮十分好客，不時邀請不同的朋友家人在家裏品嚐她的拿手好菜，歡聚一堂。 呂伍若蓮無私的愛，及慷慨助人的精神將會永遠被懷念及景仰。 出殯儀式會在6月3日早上10點網上同步播出。歡迎參加、一同悼念。
