Dearest Eleanor, Christine, Cheryl and family,
Deeply saddened by the sudden passing away of dear Mr. Martin ( Daddy as we knew him). He went away without even saying bye to us and with the current restrictions we were not able to attend the funeral. We will miss him at every occasion. May his soul rest in peace. He was the last man standing of his generation of the Martin family, strong in character as my grandpa Eric, great uncle Mickeys brother often told us of them as boys in their home in Burma & by all accounts from other members of the family an extraordinary man. Wishing we had had the opportunity to listen to those stories again but in great uncle Mickeys own words.
Deepest of condolences from our end of the family to yours closest to him.

Dear Elena, Christine, Cheryl & family. Words cannot describe how saddened we are about your loss and how much we will miss uncle. We will cherish the memories from last year when we met him again in Canada forever. The laughter and joy we had , the time we spend listening to all the stories he shared with us we will treasure forever. Also all the memorable moments we had in Dhaka old town with him almost every Friday. He was a role model for all of us how he treated people and always looked after others first. He was always there to give us guidance on any problem that came up in life.
Rest in peace uncle...we will never forget you because you gave us so much to remember

I am very much saddened by the news of Mr Martin's demise. I had the good fortune of meeting Mr Martin when I visited Dhaka in 2011. The stories he shared with me about the monumental efforts made by him to save the church from encroachment still ring in my ears in his own very voice. Prior to my visit, I had only heard stories of his work from Mrs Sonia John, who, on hearing that I was going to Dhaka, instead that I should meet Mr Martin. It baffles me even to this day how he maintained such humility and low-profile for so many years despite having done so much. He was a very humble person, who would only share details about his work when asked. He had the habit of narrating things in a very vague, as a matter of fact manner, leaving out most of the details so you wouldn't know just how much he had done. It was evident, he didn't want people to concentrate on what HE did, rather than what was done. Never did he take any credit, always starting of with, "By the grace of God WE were able to ...." Most of us do a little thing and want to blow our trumpets from the highest possible rooftops, and yet here was a man who did so much in a secluded part of the world, with no Armenian around him. His vision was clear. He didn't care there was nobody to clap for him since he wasn't doing it all for any clap or appreciation. Such was the depth of his soul. I wish we all had a bit of that depth. On finding out that I was a student, he offered to cover my accommodation expenses within the first 5 minutes of having met me. He didn't know who I was, just the fact that I was a young Armenian with possibly little money was sufficient for him to make that generous offer. I shall always remember that with gratitude. He always praised his staff and his colleagues in front of strangers, repeatedly mentioning how good they were and how dedicated they have been, as if to say stop concentrating on me, I am an Armenian, this is my duty, but the others here with me are not, they did it out of love, appreciate their efforts instead. He spoke to them and delegated tasks in the most dignified and respectful way, because of which they loved him to the core. With so many stories to tell, Mr Martin was the perfect conversationalist, someone you could listen to for hours without getting tired. His good sense of humour and usage of random Armenian words in sentences always made one smile. Every effort should be made to make sure that anyone who says Arnenians of Bangladesh, Mr Martin's name comes up. I, for one, will be doing my bit towards that. Rest In Peace, Mr Martin and thank you for all your efforts. You will always stay in our fond memories.
My heartfelt condolences to the entire family of Mr Martin. To his children, grandchildren, relatives, neighbours, friends and anyone who had the good fortune of meeting him. Thank you, for being by his side when he was doing his great service. I imagine how hard it must have been for you, I imagine how many times you would have wanted him to leave everything and return to live with you. I appreciate your sacrifice and I am glad you were by his side to his day.
May the soil weigh light on his body and may he forever remain in human memory.

All near and Dear ones of Mr Martirossian,at this sad moment,I offer my condolences to you all at this great loss of such a noble soul. He was a page of our history. He kept the rich tributes of the Armenian business society in Bengal, which played it's part in the economic development of the region flying almost single handedly. And succeeded in that. The beautiful Church we see today, would not have been there,if he would not have gone through the battles that he had to fight. Kudos to him and to the family, you, who supported and allowed him to do so. May his soul be granted the highest coveted position in his eternal abode which he deserves. May Almighty give you enough strength to absorb this colossal loss. Hope someone from your family will keep on working closely with the new Warden to secure proper recognition of Armenian contribution in Bangladesh history. Amen.

Not good with words but still want to honor the memory of a dear uncle by sharing a few thoughts.
I hold dear to heart and cherish every moment I had the opportunity to share with you while growing as a kid.
you were not just an uncle, you were like a father and a friend. I have followed many of your words of wisdom throughout my life.
"In Our Hearts
We thought of you today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And the days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our hearts".

The passing of your dad / grandfather and my dearest uncle is a great loss to all of us. As I've always said.. your dad was like a second dad to me for more reasons than one. Without his help and support when I was in college, I would not be where I am today. His funny jokes and comments without any reservations will be missed. On a personal level, I know he loved all his nephews and nieces and was always very happy to be amongst them.
Uncle Mickey's memory will live amongst us forever because he was well loved by all of us - his nephews and nieces.
