Sydney was an icon of strength to us, and we enjoyed the few times we got to spend with him and his lovely family. We admired his good humor and spirit in spite of his illness. We were happy he could make it to our Silver Anniversary 4 years ago. RIP.

Dear Mrs. Freitas, Sydney, Michelle, Sean & Destiny,
My condolences on the loss of Mr. Freitas, who I will always remember as a gentle and compassionate father and grandfather. I could always see the love you all had for each other every time I came over to play with Michelle when we were kids.
May you take comfort in knowing that he is now with God and looking after you all from above.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Sydney. I remember him coming to one of Nana Mary's (Mendonca) milestone birthdays many years ago. I have never forgotten the happiness and smiles it brought her and the rest of the family to see him there. It was touching to witness, and not easy to do after the stroke. God bless him for doing that, as well as all of you during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the memories you all have of him, and may Sydney rest in peace.
