Obituary of Mrs. Sol Sargent

Sol was born on February 8th,1935 in Sara, Iloilo City, Philippines. She graduated at the top of her class from the Nursing School in Cebu and intended on travelling the world, working as a nurse. She travelled to Chicago and then proceeded to Toronto where she met the love of her life, Donald. She worked at Toronto and then Scarborough General Hospital. Sol passed away peacefully at the grand age of 85 on Saturday March 7th, 2020 at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in Orillia with family by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Donald Cecil and is survived by daughter Gail Anne, son-in-law Craig Adams and grandsons Elliot and Jackson. Sol was the eldest of 7 children born to Antonio and Caridad Bajo. She will be missed by her sisters Mila and Dolores and her brothers Santiago and Atanasio and their families. She was predeceased by brothers Wilfredo and Efren. Sol was in her 86th year and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm Friday March 13th at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough. The Funeral Service will be held at Ogden on Saturday March 14th. There will be a visitation at noon then Service at 1pm followed by a brief reception. The Interment will be held at Pine Hill’s Cemetery at 3:30 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Foundation.
