Obituary of Mr. Salesius Pinheiro
Please share a memory of Mr. Salesius to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Salesius Anthony Pinheiro passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2020 after a 20 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on January 24th, 1946 in Karachi, Pakistan, the only son, to the late Percival and Charlotte (Dias) Pinheiro. He married Roseleine Benz on September 28th, 1973 in Karachi. He moved to Canada in 1974 and worked as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years with Four Seasons Hotel. He is survived by his wife, children Sharon Dhaliwal (Gurpreet), Sandra Mroz (Basil) and Ryan Pinheiro. Most beloved Grandpa to Syreena, Jordan, Maya, Jacob and Evan and Godfather to Navin and Pamela. He will be missed dearly by his 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Odette Kotecha (Vinoo), Gloria Fernandes (Noel), Yvette Rixen (Dave), Marilyn Mitchell (Steve), Deborah Pinheiro, the late Peter Benz (Arlene), Robert Benz and by all of his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Salesius truly lived life to the fullest with his love for singing, dancing, playing golf and billiards. The disease may have robbed him of some of his abilities, but that never stopped him from grabbing a microphone or showing off his moves on the dance floor. He was ailed by strokes, a broken hip and limited movement but he kept fighting and never gave up. He fought until his body was too broken to mend. He is at peace now amongst the angels. A special thank you to the nurses at Centenary Hospital for the compassion and kindness shown to Salesius and his family during his final days. Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by Salesius are invited to attend his viewing on Friday January 17th, 2020 between 5 and 9pm, at Ogden Funeral Homes. His funeral will take place on Saturday January 18th, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada are appreciated.
